Tenrod mercury-free T8 LED replacement tube

Thursday, 01 July, 2010 | Supplied by: Tenrod Australia Pty Ltd

The T8 replacement LED tube lead-free and mercury-free lighting uses LEDs for solid-state lighting and is encased in a durable polycarbonate and aluminium casing. It is designed as an alternative to the mercury-containing fluorescent lamps.

The tube uses half the nominal power of fluorescent lamps and has a claimed life of 50,000 h. The problem of fluorescent lamp failures associated with frequent on/off switching is addressed with the tube’s solid-state technology and absence of starters.

Replacing fluorescent tubes with the LED tube is simply a matter of removing the starter (and electronic ballast if fitted with one), installing the LED tube in its place and switching it on. An iron-core ballast can optionally be left connected.

The C-Tick approved tube is available in four white colours: warm, cool, full spectrum and daylight, making it suitable for a wide range of purposes, ranging from heavy and long-term usage in factories and car parks, as well as offices, in both new and retrofit installations.
