Thursday, 18 April, 2013 | Supplied by: Solar Inception Pty Ltd

The SolaGrid audible alarm is a safety device that alerts solar power users if an earth fault affects an inverter.

The alarm is powered from a 230 VAC single-phase control circuit - 1 A max. A single alarm will track and alert an earth fault from multiple inverters. The user can then check the inverter displays to determine which inverter carries the fault. The alarm provides both visual (red flashing light) and audible (beeping -74 dB @ 1 m) alarm of a fault at the inverter.

The alarm complies with the new AS/NZS 5033:2012 Standard (clause 3.4.3). The standard stipulates that the external alarm must repeat at least once per hour until the fault is cleared.
