Retrofit downlight enclosures

Saturday, 01 November, 2008 | Supplied by: Arrowform

The Flexi fire-resistant downlight enclosures are designed to offer the level of protection mandated in the recently released Wiring Rules to prevent fires being started by the high temperatures generated by halogen downlights.

The enclosures can be retrofitted to existing downlights from below, minimising the effort required to ensure light fittings do not cause fires in the ceiling void. The enclosures’ small size enables them to be installed around light fittings in limited access areas such as between floors, in cathedral ceilings and under skillion roofs and hanging beams.

Able to be installed with no gap to timber and insulation, the enclosures will isolate future loose elements in ceiling spaces, such as leaves, nests, debris, insulation, pests and dust, from ignition temperatures and prevent ingress/egress through the downlight.

The enclosures are available in a variety of formats to suit 12 or 240 V downlights, with a high acoustic rating version available as an option.
