Lighting efficiency controller

Light Eco Plus is a compact controller that delivers energy savings by controlling the amount of electricity that reaches a fluorescent lighting circuit.

After fluorescent lights have been switched on and warmed up, they can operate effectively on a reduced power supply. The controller works by allowing lights to turn on at the standard utility voltage and then reducing the electricity supply to economy mode.

The device features a small LCD panel that clearly shows the amount of power saved. The information is stored, with the savings history available for download.

The device is designed to sense a change in energy demand and switch back to mains voltage where necessary. System-wide failure is eliminated by bypassing to mains power if overload or low voltage is detected.

The device features a bypass switch to allow manual bypass of economy mode during lighting maintenance, with automatic return to economy mode after a set period. External control is possible, with the units controllable by timer, daylight sensor or building management systems.

Daylight harvesting is possible with the external control facility and is the primary application with high bay lighting.

Models from 2.4 to 4.8 kVA are standard, with larger models available. Standard models will sense the switching of six twin fluorescent light fittings (about 3 A), with extra-sensitive models able to detect as few as two twin fittings.
