The Sitrans LR 460 continuous radar level measurement transmitter is designed for facilities processing solids such as cement powder, coal, gypsum, grain, aggregates and plastics.
Radar technology using 24 GHz electromagnetic waves measures the distance to the material, making it suitable for use in extreme dust environments, with a claimed range of up to 100 m.
The device features a 'quick-start wizard' that can be enabled locally or remotely for rapid deployment. After initial set-up, the device responds automatically to changing material slope conditions and physical silo features such as fixed obstructions or build-up, providing continuous measurement of materials during static, discharge or filling conditions.
The antenna has an increased signal-to-noise ratio over the model it replaces, allowing it to detect very low dielectric-constant materials at long ranges.
Screw terminals allow fast installation and wiring, while an infrared handheld programmer enables the device to be programmed without opening the cover.
Optional self-cleaning purging connection and dust covers are available to prevent sticky solids from building up inside the antenna.
