Ecolume is a range of LED-based downlights use Osram’s 1000 lumen Ostar LED technology.
With a power consumption of 15 W and efficacy of 50 lm/W at 700 mA, the downlight is designed to be an energy-efficient replacement for 50 W halogen lamps. The bulb life is claimed to be 50,000 h, thereby reducing maintenance costs.
The lamps are available in cool and warm white with beam angles ranging from 12–36°. The fascia is available in white, brushed chrome and brass.
The LED driver, which was designed specifically for the product, is connected via two screw terminal connections straight to 240 VAC mains. The LED driver will produce the 700 mA constant current required to drive the light source. With driver efficiencies measured at 89%, the driver also minimises power loss.
