In-ground lighting

Sunday, 01 June, 2008 | Supplied by: Spectra Lighting Pty Ltd

The Sherpa in-ground light fitting is designed for a range of applications from bearing the weight and impact of motor vehicles and pedestrians to providing functional illumination for large open-plan areas.

The fitting supplies wide distribution of ground radiated light through a borosilicate glass lens that can withstand motor vehicles up to 7500 kg being driven over it at 20 km/h and up to 4000 kg static weight.

The body and recessed outer case are constructed from corrosion-resistant techno-polymer to withstand a wide range of temperatures. The trim is made from pre-treated and powder-coated aluminium, while the fixings are stainless steel and gaskets are manufactured from silicone to provide IP67 protection rating.

The fitting features an automatic isolation terminal switch, a built-in cable gland that accommodates 7-12 mm diameter cables and a ground mounting kit and is available with either a 180° or 360° light distribution.
