Clipsal 981WH and 982SS downlights

Thursday, 06 May, 2010 | Supplied by: Clipsal - by Schneider Electric

The 981WH (white) and 982SS (stainless steel) mains-powered downlights feature built-in metal enclosures, designed to contain any combustion within.

The ‘cans’ are constructed from metal and intumescent material. In the event of a fire, the material blocks the vent holes, suffocating the fire. These downlights are suitable for fire-rated roofs, without degrading the fire rating, and have been approved for installation within 25 mm of roof beams.

The downlights are available in fixed and gimble styles and are supplied with 35 W halogen globes that meet the MEPs required watts-per-square-metre coverage.

Similar to conventional downlights, these downlights are easy fit-off, with ceiling clips and twisted bayonet fitting for ease of re-lamping. The multi-point contact lamp holder provides heat dissipation and longer lamp life, while the downlights are supplied with a 230-240 V/12 V dimmable electronic transformer and 250 mm lamp lead for easy installation.
