Monday, 08 November, 2010 | Supplied by: Soanar Limited

GR14q is the result of cooperation between BJB and Philips with the aim of developing a base lamp holder for compact fluorescent lamps, with increased energy efficiency, which will improve the design and make lamps easier to handle.

The lamp is claimed to achieve an increase in energy efficiency of up to 25% with an additional 5% gained from improved reflector technology. It is claimed to be the most efficient CFL system currently available.

Conventional G24 systems are wattage coded for safety - this is not necessary for the GR14q as these operate with constant current technology and intelligent electronic ballasts. With the GR14q the position of the lamp is precisely defined, ensuring that reflector technology can be fully utilised. There will be no sagging of the lamp due to material fatigue.

The lamp holder’s features include: lamp base system has an elegant round design; permanent precise lamp position; twist and lock principle for simple and safe method of lamp replacement; lamp completely covers the lamp holder and protects it against material fatigue due to UV radiation.
