Testo 880 portable thermal imagers

The testo 880 portable thermal imagers can be used in building inspections and preventive service and maintenance programs.

The instrument offers one-hand operation using dynamic motor focus and a 5-way joystick for navigating the menu and image gallery. Two programmable fast-selection buttons allow rapid access to the most important functions. Administration of the data is possible either in the camera or via a PC using the included software, which allows analysis and report creation. The instrument is available in three versions, each with a range of functions and features tailored to specific applications.

Detection of small temperature differences is possible using germanium optics. A thermal resolution between pixels of less than 0.1 °C is claimed, with approximately 20,000 measurement values and 160 x 120 pixel data resolution interpolated onto a 320 x 240 pixel 3.5" display.

The standard 32° wide-angle lens can be interchanged with a 12° telephoto lens offering the flexibility to adapt to the dimensions and distances of different subjects. For operation in harsh conditions, a germanium IR protective glass shields the lens from dust and scratches.
