MIT and S1 insulation testers

The MIT and S1 insulation testers have been enhanced so that they now meet the requirements for use in CAT IV 600 V applications. This makes them suitable for performing measurements at the source of supply in low-voltage installations and offer immunity to high-voltage transients up to 8 kV.

Both models specify guard terminal performance, so users can achieve accurate results even in the presence of high levels of surface leakage in the equipment under test.

The instruments’ software has also been upgraded, allowing test results to be loaded directly into forms and certificates that are uniform in layout and appearance with documentation produced by other power instruments.

Testers offering CAT IV 600 V capability are MIT510/2 5 kV insulation tester, MIT520/2 5 kV diagnostic insulation tester and MIT1020/2 10 kV diagnostic insulation tester.

The CAT IV 600 V rating also applies to the S1-554/2 5 kV and S1-1054/2 10 kV high noise immunity testers, suitable for use in substation switch yards and other areas where extremely high levels of electrical noise may be present.
