Core alignment fusion splicer

Fusing optical fibres claims to be faster and easier using the handheld Fitel core alignment fusion splicer.

Easy to operate, the fusion splicer is designed for:

  • fibre-to-the-home (FTTx) installations;
  • LAN installations;
  • trunk line installations.

The smallest Core-Aligning Splicer, the Fitel S177A, delivers the automated functionality and accuracy necessary for conventional fibre backbone installations, specialty applications and long-haul installations. The portability and speed of the splicer makes it the tool of choice for challenging field installations such as FTTx and LAN.

The features of the splicer include:

  • uses 30% less fibre in the tool than conventional splicers;
  • improved heating design yields a 9-second splice time and 37-second heat time to speed up installation time.

The portability of the S177A brings the benefits of core alignment, including accuracy and reliability, to the growing construction of fibre-to-the-home and other constrained fibre-optic cable installations.
