Analyser for renewable energy systems

Tuesday, 03 February, 2009 | Supplied by: Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd

The WT500 power analyser addresses renewable energy systems with the capability of simultaneously measuring DC and AC signals and calculating system efficiency. Separate integrate functions are also included to enable evaluation of charge/discharge and bought/sold power in photovoltaic systems. Other applications include large current measurement for electrical appliances, such as whitegoods, the evaluation of Energy Star-rated home electronics products, variable-speed motors and UPS systems.

Available with one, two or three input elements, the analyser provides single- and three-phase power measurement over a bandwidth of DC, 0.5 Hz-100 kHz with 0.1% basic accuracy and direct input of 1000 VRMS and 40 A. Higher currents can be measured via current clamps or shunts by using an optional external current sensor input.

The unit features a colour TFT screen that displays data in numerical, waveform (up to 5 kHz), vector diagram, trend and bargraph formats and harmonic components measurement up to the 50th order.

Measured data and settings can be stored onto USB memory, with software available to transfer data to a PC via standard USB or optional ethernet interface.
