Available to rent, the Megger transformer ohmmeter/winding resistance and tap-charger test set has dual independent channels for simultaneous measurements on two windings. It also has built-in safety discharge and shutdown features and test operation of on-load tap-chargers.
The lightweight, field-portable unit is claimed to safely and accurately measure the DC winding resistance of all types of transformers and rotating machines.
A built-in circuitry safely discharges the specimen when the test is completed, if load is accidentally disconnected or if line power is lost.
The transformer ohmmeter is useful when testing the operation of on-load tap-chargers. The instrument can be used to check the make-before-break operation of on-load tap-chargers and also to measure the contact resistance of each tap position.
