The Megger IDAX 300 Insulation Diagnostic Analyser, available to rent from TechRentals, provides an accurate condition assessment of insulation in transformers, bushings, generators and cables. It also maintains accurate data in high interference environments.
Moisture in the insulation significantly accelerates the ageing process. The compact and portable device uses dielectric frequency response (DFR) in combination with analysis in software to determine the percentage of moisture in paper insulation, oil conductivity and an individually corrected tan delta value at 20°C reference temperature.
Other features include: inaccuracy <0.5% + 0.0001, 45 to 70 Hz, C >100 pF; true frequency domain measurement for highest interference rejection; and laptop with preloaded software.
