The T620/T640 cameras are claimed to have the highest (307,200 at 640 x 480) infrared pixel resolution available and can be used by thermographers to obtain the highest thermal resolution and sensitivity for good images and accurate temperature measurements. They are suitable for use in industrial, utility, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and building diagnostics settings.

With a 5 megapixel digital camera and LED lamp, the cameras have Wi-Fi connectivity to mobile devices including iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The FLIRViewer App is available to import images from the camera, add more box areas and moveable spots, and finetune images. The app enables users to generate comprehensive reports and share critical information immediately.

Available with an ergonomic rotating optical block with interchangeable lenses, the cameras can easily tilt up or down along the 120° range of motion while keeping the touch-screen display right in front of the user.

Users can quantify the severity of electrical problems with MeterLink-enabled clamp meters that use Bluetooth wireless communication to send data to the FLIR camera for annotation on stored thermal images.

Additional features of the T640 include: built-in colour viewfinder for easier viewing in bright environments; thermal sensitivity of 0.04°C at 30°C; 8x digital zoom; measurement presets; line profile.
