The Metrel InstalTest 3017 installation tester simplifies testing and provides accountability and traceability. Pass/fail limits are preset to Australian Standards AS/NZS3000 Wiring Rules - including the mandatory visual inspection, polarity and correct circuit connections tests. The tester is available for rent.

Users can also define limits for troubleshooting and general electrical work for single measurement functions. These include visual tests, insulation resistance, fault loop impedance and RCD tests. Results can be stored for printing compliance test reports at a later stage and are already in the format set out in AS/NZ3017 Electrical Installations - Testing and Inspection Guidelines.

The Auto-sequence Test modes speed up testing and reporting. For example, the Socket Outlet - RAPID auto-sequence tests sockets in seconds, therefore reducing the time taken to test hundreds of newly installed socket outlets to hours, rather than several days when using traditional testing and reporting methods. The Visual Test component of the auto-sequence tests has the AS/NZS3017 Wiring Rules values preset, with fast Pass/Fail/No Inspection limits for inspections prior to energising the installation.
