Toyota Motor Corporation has issued a safety recall for certain vehicles in its Hiace range. The affected models include: KDH201, KDH221, KDH223, TRH201, TRH221 and TRH223.

Some vehicles in the range have an issue whereby the related gear position (P_R_N_D) may not match the expected vehicle behaviour, ie, unable to shift out of Park or shift out of a forward or reverse drive position (D_R).

Being unable to shift out of Park or shift out of a forward or reverse drive position (D_R) may increase the risk of an accident. Toyota advises it will contact Hiace owners by mail at their last known address, inviting them to make an appointment for free rectification works. If you believe your vehicle may affected, use this link to view the VIN details and contact Toyota directly.
