Safety recall Mitsubishi Triton

Thursday, 26 November, 2015

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is advising owners of the Triton 16MY MQ — fitted with genuine accessory tow bar (kits) part numbers MZ350452 and MZ350552 — that the Compliance Label does not comply with the marking requirements in either ADR 62/02 or AS4177.1. Specifically the towing loads do not match the specifications for 16MY MQ Triton.

The issue is that consumers may exceed the specified towing loads specified in the owner’s manual, posing a potential traffic hazard. The recall applies to vehicles sold between 1 May 2015 and 30 September 2015. Mitsubishi Motors Australia will contact all known owners by mail and request they present their vehicle to their preferred Mitsubishi Motors Dealer for rectification at no charge. Consumers who require further information should contact Mitsubishi Motors Australia directly.
