Safe Work Australia continues to deliver its series of virtual seminars, a valuable resource for anyone concerned with workplace safety and risk mitigation.

The latest seminars focus on ‘Hits, falls, slips, trips and stressors — preventing musculoskeletal disorders’, and give practical insights into reducing the number and severity of injuries caused by manual tasks undertaken at work.

The first of the two is ‘Minimising musculoskeletal disorders’, which features a hospital, fine art restoration service and artisan bakery, using video to show how risk management the hierarchy of controls can be used to protect workers’ health and safety. It is presented by SafeWork SA and available here.

The second seminar, ‘Improving the risk management of musculoskeletal disorders’, is presented by Dr Jodi Oakman from La Trobe University and demonstrates that to effectively prevent musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace, we need to address both physical and psychosocial hazards. It is available here.
