Navman recently conducted research into what drives us mad on the road and, according to the results, not indicating or indicating too late was the number one pet peeve. The company found that a whopping 98% of drivers identified this as the action that annoys them most of all.

The company conducted the study via specialist firm Lonergan Research, who surveyed 15,561 of Navman’s Australian customers in September last year.

In addition to the lack of courtesy around indicating, there were also many other frustrating driving scenarios that rated highly annoying among drivers:

  •  96% identified drivers going too slow in the fast lane.
  •  93% said not knowing the directions to where they are going.
  •  88% agreed that traffic is a major frustration.
  •  84% were annoyed by speeding by other drivers.
  •  76% suggested the most frustrating thing is disruptive passengers, such as kids being noisy.
  •  64% said cyclists were the number one peeve.
