WL Gore RG coaxial cable

Thursday, 15 September, 2011 | Supplied by: Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group

WL Gore has introduced a lighter-weight RG coaxial cable for aircraft communication and navigation systems, providing weight savings.

When compared with standard RG coaxial cables, the cables reduce operating costs because they are up to 20% lighter with a 15% smaller diameter. The cable still meets the electrical and mechanical requirements of MIL-T-81790 and EN3475-503. The cables engineered for electrical impedance of 50 and 75 Ω also exceed the electrical requirements of MIL-C-17G.

The cable design facilitates easier routing and improved abrasion resistance.
