Rack-mountable hot air exhaust system
The Cool-Stack III, manufactured by Active Thermal Management, is a rack-mountable one-unit high hot air exhaust system that utilises four 120 mm fans that are claimed to pull up to 70 cfm of hot air out from tightly packed racks, while generating low noise levels of 26 dB. Heated air is exhausted through the perforated front panel, or exhaust fittings and tubing provided with the unit, to move hot air away from a cabinet.
The 460 mm deep device is temperature controlled, switching from a constant low ‘idle’ speed, which is suitable for removing stand-by heat generated by components, to full speed as temperatures within the cabinet increase.
Movable jumpers within the unit can be set during its installation to satisfy the requirements of a particular installation, whether residential or commercial.
