Power Parameters Ponovo PSS01 circuit-breaker simulator

Monday, 15 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Power Parameters Pty Ltd

The Ponovo PSS01 circuit-breaker simulator permits the completion of the protective relay testing ‘loop’ by simulating the circuit breaker normally activated by protective relays.

The testing array typically consists of the relay test set, the relay to be tested, tripping and closing circuitry and simulation functions mimicking the breaker. The simulator is connected to the relay test set, so a complete function (relay-breaker) is carried out.

The circuit-breaker simulator can operate on the basis of three- or single-pole tripping, emulates required voltage levels of 220 or 110 VDC with a wide selection of tripping delays from 20 to 110 milliseconds and trip and close currents are selectable from 250 mA to 2 A. Closing times can be adjusted from 40 to 240 ms and 12 auxiliary contacts are provided for enhanced testing flexibility.
