G9KB is a high-capacity DC relay supporting DC power supply applications for household electricity storage systems, globally. Connecting and disconnecting 600 VDC/50 A, it supports equipment and applications that open/close a high DC load.
The relay conforms to safety standards (UL60947-4-1, EN61810-10) required for solar power generation system components and acquired electricity storage system components. G9KB simplifies the application procedure for safety standards of the customer’s products.
By adopting arc cut-off technology and the new 3D arc simulation technology created by a collaboration of industry with academia, the relay handles the charging of an electricity storage system, switching control and safe cut-off of the direct current that runs during discharging. In the 3D arc simulation technology, OMRON has established a method to analyse the safe cut-off process of the high-voltage DC and to reflect the analysis result in the component structure design. With these technologies, a compact high-voltage DC relay that securely and safely cuts off DC is realised and contributes to the downsizing and weight reduction of the user’s products.
