High-density power hub

The FieldConnex 500 mA high-density power hub is an addition to the FieldConnex fieldbus interface products, designed for fast installation and reliable long-term operation in a fieldbus infrastructure.

The hub increases the available power-supply current from 360 mA in the model it replaces, up to 500 mA for up to four fieldbus segments, while retaining its small size and low heat dissipation.

The hub supplies energy to a large number of field devices inside explosion-hazardous areas, while allowing maximum cable lengths. At each spur junction, field barriers or segment protectors take care of militating the maximum current in order to allow safe Zone 1, Division 1 operation of field devices, which can be connected, disconnected and serviced during normal system operation.

The device features passive power conditioning for reliability, integrated fieldbus termination and plug-in terminals with retaining screws for secure connections that are resistant to vibrations and prevent unintentional disconnection.

An optional advanced diagnostic module can be attached to provide continuous monitoring and diagnosis of the fieldbus physical layer, allowing a full view of the complete fieldbus physical layer at the control room.
