Heatshrink tubing

The range of Stockcap heatshrink products has been expanded with the addition of low-voltage (LV) medium-wall (MW) heatshrink tubes.

Specifically designed for protecting LV terminations as well as insulating LV connectors in straight-through joints, the MW tubes are manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin and are hot-melt adhesive lined. The adhesive melts and flows as the tube is shrinking and creates a permanent environmental seal between the cable jacket and the tube.

Once shrunk, the cable joint is ready for direct burial or outdoor applications. As a special order, the tubes can be supplied unlined for mechanical protection applications like adhesion to plastic and metal.

The tubes are flame retardant, quick to install, even in confined spaces, and provide long-term resistance to weathering, moisture and dust contamination.

Many different cable diameters can be accommodated by the range of tubes available, which include shrink ratios of 10-4, 16-6, 27-8, 30-12, 40-16, 50-20, 70-22, 100-28, 120-38, 140-42 and 160-50 mm, all in standard 1 m lengths.
