Flexible firestop foam

Tuesday, 01 April, 2008 | Supplied by: Hilti (Aust) Pty Ltd

The CP 660 flexible firestop foam is the single-system solution for firestopping and smoke sealing, suitable for use in electrical installation work.

The two-component foam is supplied in handy, environmentally friendly foil pack for virtually drip-free and well-controlled dispensing.

The product is designed to create permanent, reliable, smoke-tight firestop seals in small to medium-sized openings. It is suitable for sealing openings containing cable trays, bunched cables, single cables and metal pipes. It also offers the possibility to install single cables at a later date by simply pushing the cables through the foam.

The product incorporates a three-phase technology to ensure efficient application. In the first phase, the two components of the foam are brought together in a specially designed mixing nozzle to ensure even and optimal mixing at all times.

During the second phase, the firestop foam begins to expand after approximately 1 min, allowing the installer enough time to ensure a neat and tidy job.

In the third phase, the curing process begins and takes approximately 10 mins to reach the complete hardened form. In this period the foam can be pressed into shape in the opening for a professional appearance.
