Enviro-friendly conduits

Evcco enviro-friendly conduits are designed for surface and underground uses such as electrical cabling and within air sampling systems for protection against smoke and toxicity.

The conduits are made from a halogen-free flame-retardant polymer that has been formulated as an environment friendly alternative to PVC conduit as it contains no known toxins.

The conduit is available in four types: ‘Enviro’ medium-duty (HF) halogen-free;‘STD’ medium-duty (HFFR) halogen-free, flame-retardant; ‘Hi-Po’ heavy-duty (HFFR) halogen-free, flame-retardant with high impact resistance; and ‘FRAS’ heavy-duty (HFFR) halogen-free flame-retardant anti-static with high impact resistance, used where static electricity may cause problems.

The conduit, available in 20-110 mm OD sizes, is claimed to be easier to install than metal and PVC conduits but contains no environmental and safety hazards that can leach into soil or be released into the air by fire. A range of junction boxes, inspection elbows, tees, bends and adapters is also available.

Producing no corrosive or toxic flue gases in the presence of fire, the conduit can be used in areas of high concentrations of people or high value assets.
