The SEC TSG range of 12 V sealed lead acid batteries deploys Monobloc Catalyst technology for long-life operation, thereby combining the safety and low-maintenance advantages of sealed lead acid batteries with the long life of normal lead acid batteries.

The batteries are available in capacities ranging from 18 to 250 Ah.

The catalyst combines the hydrogen and oxygen as water and drops it back into the battery and allows the normal design life to be obtained even when the battery is operating at 30 °C. This is particularly significant in Australia where ambient temperatures are higher than the 20 °C most batteries are designed for and for when batteries are installed in cabinets exposed to the hot sun for long periods.

The fully recyclable batteries are designed for deep-cycle applications such as solar photovoltaic and wind power generation facilities, water pumping, alternative energy storage and cycling/float service.

The multi-positional usage batteries are spill- and leak-proof, with tank-formed plates, multi-cell containers and low self-discharge.

The catalyst maintains full-battery capacity by preventing depolarisation of negative plates and helps to reduce float current by about 50% and gassing by up to 80%.
