Eaton PSFI surge suppression and filtering package

The Eaton PSFI is an all-in-one surge suppression and filtering package.

With a three-stage protection surge filter suitable for use in Class III/Cat A locations, the PSFI is suitable for a number of applications including plug-in UPS systems, servers, portable instrumentation, point of sale and small office systems, as well as industrial and rural surge-prone sites.

The PSFI is designed to provide secondary protection against power surges caused by external sources such as lightning strikes and substation switching. It also provides a measure of protection from surge events generation on the secondary side of the filter.

In addition, the filter complies with AS3100, AS1768, IEC61643-1, IEC61000-6-1, 2, 3, 4 and other standards and codes as applicable.

Being a three-stage protection unit, the PSFI utilises primary and secondary MOV protection in conjunction with a Low-Q LC filter. The unit features filtering of line harmonics, as well as noise and RF transmitters with a cut-off frequency of less than 10 kHz and a minimum attenuation of 40 dB above 1 MHz.

Additional features include protection fail indicators; three-mode, three-stage protection; and enclosure in an IP24 painted metal housing.
