The Hannay series industrial-duty spring rewind reels are designed for live electric cable to power tools, lights, machinery and generator lines.
The steel construction of the reels is claimed to stand up to demanding field use, with heavy-duty spring rewind motors and declutching arbours used in the SCR/NSCR700 and SCR-10-17-19 series to prevent damage from reverse winding. A non-sparking ratchet assembly ensures that the cable can be locked in place when the desired length has been paid out, while a pull on the cable unlocks the reel and the spring motor retracts the cable.
The SCR/NSCR series contain an external motor with a 3-conductor, 45 A 600 V collector assembly. A 4-way roller assembly is supplied as standard, with additional conductors or higher amperage being available on request. Cables with large bending radiuses are used with the SCR series, whereas the NSCR series is suited to compact applications.
The compact SCR10-17-19 Reel features a self-contained 30 A spring motor housed inside the drum.
