Magellan’s emergency DC charger is a solution for avoiding any loss of DC power in substations. The unit has a light, compact and portable design and combines an advanced, reliable battery charger and lightweight, high-efficiency lithium batteries.
The charger operates from a 240 VAC input, providing dual uninterruptible 110 V/20 A and 24 V/25 A or 48 V/25 A DC power. The unit is to be kept connected to mains at all times to make sure that the batteries are charged and are available at full capacity when needed.
The charger weighs approximately 80 kg and the batteries weigh 65 kg. The four lithium battery modules can also be easily unplugged and removed to make the unit even lighter when going up steps. The battery modules can be reassembled and plugged in once in the substation in <1 min.
