Electrical safety switch campaign launched

Monday, 06 July, 2015

A new campaign to raise community awareness about the importance of electrical safety switches in the home has been launched by the Queensland Government.

“The risk is real. One safety switch may not be enough” is the campaign’s message and is supported by TV advertising, videos and other online tools explaining the difference between circuit breakers and safety switches, as well as the importance of having safety switches installed on all circuits.

Electrical contractors are being encouraged to use the campaign’s supportive elements to help their customers understand common misconceptions regarding safety switches, circuit breakers and fuses as a way to help prevent electric shock death and injuries.
