Harwin EZ BoardWare SMT spring contacts

Harwin has introduced the EZ BoardWare SMT spring contacts, which are also known as grounding/RFI contacts, spring or shield fingers. The SMT contacts can be assembled to PCBs and used as grounding or shielding contacts or for general electrical connections between PCBs or similar.

They are available in 12 sizes and styles, ranging from 1.70 to 6.00 mm free height and 1.20 to 4.9 mm working height, allowing for a range of applications.

Applications include: consumer and medical devices, test and measure and industrial equipment such as notebooks, mobile phones, patient care equipment, CT scanning, sensors, security systems and GPS.

The contacts are designed for automated application and are packaged in EIA-481-2 compliant tape and reel. They are suitable for wiping or sliding applications. The contacts with protected tips prevent product hooking.

The SMT contacts allow for PCB design flexibility and provide an easy method of connection, as well as preventing EMC interference and static. The contacts use standard assembly tooling.
