The latest-generation Brooks 600 series Smoke and Heat alarms employ a number of features to improve detection, early warning and reliability.

The alarms include a large (50 mm in diameter) positive action test/hush button, a low-battery signal light and a quick-fixing lockable anti-removal mounting bracket. Wired or wireless interconnection can be mixed and matched and the 10-year long-life lithium models include a tamper-proof sealed battery compartment.

The devices auto reset after smoke and contain an optical chamber, insect screen and a solder-connected sounder.
