Billion Electric, a provider of lighting control solutions and power supply products in the Asia Pacific region, is looking for partners to enter the smart lighting and smart energy markets in Southeast Asia.

Billion aims to promote its Intelligent Street Light Control and Management System (LCMS) and indoor and outdoor LED drivers by working with system integrators to join tendering projects.

Billion’s LCMS is designed to help local councils improve energy efficiency and safety. Councils can remotely monitor and manage street lights and reduce maintenance costs by setting preferred dimming schedules.

The company is also looking to launch BEsmart Energy Cloud in Southeast Asia. The solution integrates smart meters and internet gateways with a cloud-computing platform.

Established in 1973, Billion began its initial business in manufacturing, design and distribution of power supplies, LED drivers and lighting control solutions. Billion’s brand was officially launched in 2004, and since 2009, the company has added considerable resources to strengthen its research and development team and built laboratories to develop smart grid and other energy-related products. Billion registered a revenue of US$38 million in 2014.

“We are targeting Southeast Asia as we see a thriving potential in renewable energy, smart streetlights and LED lighting. We already have moved towards that direction by working with partners in Malaysia and Thailand. Currently, we are looking for cooperation through the whole of Southeastern Asia, especially in Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines,” said Martin Chang, Product Line Manager of Intelligent Street Light Control and Management at Billion Electric Co Ltd.
