Battery storage installation guidelines welcomed
New battery storage installation guidelines developed by the Clean Energy Council are being hailed as a welcome step on Australia’s path to a low-emissions future, according to Minister for the Environment Greg Hunt.
Hunt says the guidelines, which were established following consultation with the energy sector, electricity safety agencies and the CSIRO, will ensure that Australians can install battery storage systems with confidence and that the systems are safe and will work as specified.
He says the expected strong uptake of battery storage will play a key role in supporting renewable energy, cutting emissions and boosting the liveability of Australian communities.
The Installation Guidelines for Grid Connected Energy Systems with Battery Storage can be found on the Solar Accreditation website.
