Ethernet extension over copper

Monday, 01 September, 2008 | Supplied by: Paqworks

The Westermo DDW-220 is designed to extend ethernet networks over existing copper cables in point-to-point or line sharing applications. Point-to-point transmission distances of up to 10 km can be achieved with data rates of 5.7 Mbps possible over shorter distances on a single copper pair.

A built-in 4-port ethernet switch enables the unit to implement a small network without the need for any other componentry. Galvanic isolation between all interfaces, IP40-rated metal housing, extensive overvoltage protection and line interface voltage suppression make it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.

The unit features two SHDSL ports, SNMP and comprehensive diagnostic management, 16-60 VDC power supply, reverse polarity protection and DIN rail mounting.
