Lighting for vision applications

The Banner Engineering advanced lighting solutions for vision systems have been expanded to now include lighting configurations available in five different colour options, with an array of filters, diffusers and mounting systems. The products can be added to vision sensors to improve the accuracy and reliability of inspections.

The products allow vision sensors to yield a high-contrast image that is claimed to improve the repeatability, reliability and accuracy for a successful, high-speed visual inspection.

All models feature self-regulation, delivering uniform illumination levels for stable, consistent lighting, without a specialty external power supply. In addition, built-in, universal strobe control capability allows lights to easily synchronise with any camera.

The lighting range includes linear arrays to illuminate large areas at long distances, on-axis lights for collimated illumination in the same optical path as the camera, backlights for maximum contrast, ring lights that illuminate any object directly in front of the sensor, spotlights for even illumination in a small concentrated spot and specialty lights using class 2 laser lines for 3D sensing.
