Corrosion-resistant connectors

The MIL-C-38999 series 3 connectors is now available with shells made from composite virgin resins with various fillers and to outperform standard aluminium alloy shells, achieving up to 1500 mating cycles.

The material is claimed to have several advantages such as superior corrosion resistance, increased durability and lower weight.

Corrosion is the largest contributing factor in advanced system failures, but this composite material claims to eliminate connector-related corrosion, particularly that caused by contact between dissimilar metals.

The EMI shielding complies with MIL-C-38999 and the magnetic permeability of the fully assembled connector is less than 2.0 µ.
