Biometric security system

Biofob is a security system that can be added to existing access control or computer security systems to enhance the levels of security and identification using wireless technology and fingerprint biometric keyfobs.

The addition of biometrics to access control systems overcomes problems associated with stolen cards or unauthorised use of access cards. A Biofob user identifies themself as the rightful owner of the card or remote entry code for access to buildings, PCs and other access purposes.

This system is claimed to be simpler to integrate with existing access control and security systems than other biometrics systems which may involve the development of extensive management infrastructure to accommodate the fingerprint or biometrics database, plus complex enrolment processes and management of operations, such as lost-card replacement systems. The biometrics technology is in the readers, which are carried by users and verified as the authorised owners when used at a reader.
