Mobilyser phone and data expense tracking app

Mobilyser, said to be the world’s first mobile phone and data expense tracking application, has been launched in Australia.

Developed in Australia by JKP Tech, Mobilyser is an application and portal that syncs with mobile phones logs, allowing users to easily tag contacts and dialled numbers as work-related or personal. It then calculates the claimable total on calls, data and SMS in an easy-to-read report.

Designed to take the guesswork out of expense tracking for individuals and businesses, the launch of Mobilyser is timely. In June 2014, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) released a statement listing work-related claims on telephone usage in its top three areas for crackdowns. With Australians making $19.5 billion in work-related claims last year, the ATO has issued a stern warning to Australians seeking deductions without sufficient supporting documentation.

Mobilyser uses the ATO’s recommended calculation method to deliver its results. The report can be submitted to a tax agent as evidence of phone and data expenses and is compliant with MyTax, the ATO’s online lodgement system.
