The Digium Switchvox Softphone for iPhone, available from Wavelink, offers the power of a Digium IP Phone on an iPhone, enabling enterprise mobility for Digium’s Switchvox business phone system users. The Switchvox Softphone for iPhone is simple to set up and presents users with a rich feature-set to receive and make calls, check voicemail, set a personal status and see a coworker’s status.
The app delivers the same communications experience as Switchvox desktop phone users have, but allows employees to take advantage of bring your own device (BYOD) policies. It is also suitable for remote workers, telecommuters and general mobile workers.
The app allows users to make and receive calls, record, transfer and hold 3-way conference calls. Favourite contacts are automatically displayed with status details and all Switchvox contacts are available for direct calls and transfers to voicemail. iPhone contacts can be accessed and dialled via Switchvox. A call log displays recent calls for easy reference and redialling, and audio options permit use of either speaker or a headset.
The app also includes voicemail (play, delete and call-back) and easy access to status settings. Current status is available for Switchvox coworkers to see and they can control incoming calls and specific voicemail greetings.
The Switchvox Softphone for iPhone supports iOS 8 and is available for free in the Apple Store. It’s easily assigned to a Switchvox phone extension and requires a Switchvox subscription.
