Gerard Lighting acquires Lighting Corp
Gerard Lighting, the lighting arm of Gerard Industries, has just acquired Lighting Australia to become Australia's largest lighting supplier, with a combined annual revenue of almost A$300 million.
In our electrical industry recently, it has been common for private companies to be acquired by larger public companies, but this acquisition is the reverse — privately owned Gerard Lighting has acquired publicly listed Lighting Corp.
The acquisition brings together the Gerard Lighting’s Pierlite and Moonlighting brands and Lighting Corp’s Sylvania and Crompton brands under the one company.
“Under our ownership, the brands will stay as they are in the marketplace,” explains Gerard Lighting managing director, Simon Gerard. “They all have strategic positions both in the market and now within our expanded organisation.”
Gerard Lighting intends to make more lighting products accessible to electrical contractors through the electrical wholesaler network.
