Fibre test and inspection kit

Three fibre-optic kits offer video inspection of fibre end-faces using the FiberInspector Mini 200X microscope that aligns the inspection probe with fibre ports or patch cord connectors to increase the efficiency of fibre inspection.

Safety is increased as the video camera blocks all harmful laser light transmitted by the fibre, showing the end-face on a video screen, for both multimode and singlemode end-faces.

The kits include a fibre-optic pen which uses a plastic-safe solvent claimed to provide superior cleaning properties to isopropyl alcohol, fibre-optic cleaning ‘cards’ and ‘cube’, that provide cleaning and wiping surfaces that are safe to fibre end-faces and fibre-optic swabs for cleaning inside fibre ports.

Two other kit configurations let users verify loss and power levels for singlemode and multimode fibre using SimpliFiber optical loss test sets at 850, 1300, 1310 and 1550 nm.

The FiberInspector Mini and cleaning kit includes the microscope and fibre-optimised cleaning tools in a carry case.

The multimode fibre verification kit includes a multimode optical loss test set (light source and power meter), microscope, visual fault locator and carrying case. The complete fibre verification kit adds a singlemode optical loss test set to the elements of the multimode kit.
