AFL Owl-Eyed cable identification system

Monday, 20 June, 2016 | Supplied by: AFL Telecommunications Australia Pty Ltd

AFL has released the Owl-Eyed identification system, which offers an easy and accurate method of identifying the connection point of copper patch cords. The patch cord features a bright LED light source allowing technicians to visually trace individual patch cords from one end to the other without interruption or disturbance of the circuit.

LED-lit plugs are clearly visible from several metres away. The tracer tool is plugged in at one end and activates both snag-less boots for immediate identification of the other end of the cord. The system meets or exceeds TIA/EIA 568C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801 and features a foil shield to reduce EMI interference and ensure cable performance at high frequencies.
