AFC Group pre-terminated loose tube cable assemblies

AFC Group has introduced a range of pre-terminated loose tube cable assemblies, now up to 48 fibres.

The pre-terminated cables are manufactured in house from a wide range of cable types and can be made to virtually any length and connector combination. Each end of the cable is terminated with a purpose-built, robust loose tube fan-out kit which offers good fibre protection during hauling and installation.

Two styles of fan-out kits are available - Mini and Ruggedised construction. Both are available for multimode and singlemode and feature colour-coded fan-out tails. The mini fan-out kit has a very small diameter, making it suitable for mounting in any enclosure with 20 mm holes. The ruggedised fan-out kit is available for high fibre counts of up to 48 fibres.

The optional protective hauling mechanism provides extra protection during installation up to a maximum hauling tension of 50 kg.

The pre-terminated loose tube assemblies offer reduced installation times and reduced cost associated with on-site connector terminations and testing. There is no need to splice and no need for pigtails and cassettes. Pre-terminated assemblies can also be directly plugged into the equipment.
