Victoria calls for electrical inspectors

Friday, 02 November, 2007

Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) is calling for expressions of interest from licensed electrical inspectors to act as contracted electrical audit inspectors.

The interested parties will be inspecting non-prescribed electrical work detailed on the certificate of electrical safety throughout Victoria, for the three-year period of 2008 to 2010.

A minimum of 500 inspections are expected to be carried out each month within each of the four geographic zones that cover Victoria, in both metropolitan and rural areas.

The number of audits will vary according to the number of certificates of electrical safety that are lodged each month in each zone.

Activities will include visiting sites and conducting audits, recording defects on ESV’s web-based database, issuing defects notices to electrical contractors and preparing monthly summary reports.

The expression of interest closes 2.00 pm Friday 9 November 2007 and submissions are to be made direct to ESV. The Expression of Interest document is available online at http://esv.vic.gov.au/AboutESV/WhatsNew/tabid/380/Default.aspx.
