Tribute to Kevin Irwin
The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) has paid tribute to Kevin Irwin, who died yesterday after a long battle with cancer.
Irwin was an inspiration to many in the electrical industry. He was always open to new ideas and was the first sponsor of NECA’s industry’s National Excellence Industry Awards - which rather aptly takes place next Thursday in Melbourne, so it will be a fitting time for Irwin to be remembered.
As Douglas McNair said in his recent announcement, throughout Kevin’s long and highly successful career he has been a champion for those who were prepared to ‘have a go’. His leadership of Metal Manufacturers during the last 14 years has been outstanding. His passion for the industry, together with his relentless pursuit of excellence and ability to bring out the best in those with whom he worked with, has ensured that the lives and wellbeing of so many individuals and their families have been enhanced and enriched.
NECA is honoured to have worked with Kevin and offers condolences to his family.
